3-Day Luxury Itinerary for Niue

Admittedly, three days in Niue is impossible with the flight schedule in Niue (unless you have your own yacht, then the world’s your oyster). Instead, you can spend four days in Niue with two of those days being your flight days. But with so many amazing coastal attractions and Niue must-dos, three days is not nearly enough to enjoy the best that Niue has to offer. If three/four days is all you have then we’ll sure you make the most of your luxury getaway with this Niue luxury itinerary for 3 days.

For a more relaxing 3/4-day getaway, check out our alternative itinerary in How to Spend 3 Days on a Luxury Niue Vacation.

Before we get into our 3-day luxury itinerary for Niue, be sure to bookmark The Luxury Travel Guide to Niue for more trip-planning advice.

Note that due to Niue’s reduced flight schedule, this itinerary may no longer be compatible with current flights – check the flight schedule in Which Airlines Fly to Niue?

How to Get Around Niue in 3 Days

While most visitors prefer to hire a car in Niue, as public transport is limited, this 3-day luxury itinerary for Niue doesn’t require you to have a car, as tour operators and accommodations offer their own transport or come to you. For anything in between, one taxi is also available on the island. Nevertheless, it’s often much more convenient to hire a car, which you can read up on The Guide to Car Hire in Niue for advice. Note that you will need a Niue Driver’s License from the Alofi Police Station if you decide to hire a car.

Explore more of your transport options in the 8 Ways to Get to Niue (& Get Around Niue).

Day 3 – Go on a Scuba Diving Excursion and Relax with an Island Massage

It would almost be a crime to travel to Niue and not go scuba diving! As Niue is made up of porous limestone with no lakes or rivers, rainwater filters through the island carving out amazing underwater caves, chasms and cathedrals. This also allows the visibility to reach as far as 80m, with 50m being the usual… Need we say more?

Scuba Diving in Niue

Niue has two PADI dive operators who will gear you up and take you out to some awe-inspiring dive sites. Enjoy vivid encounters with sea snakes, barracuda, turtles, painted crayfish, and countless arrays of tropical fish. See The Guide to Scuba Diving in Niue to help plan your dive in paradise. Extra tip: make sure you only scuba dive in the morning, to allow more than 12 hours before your flight the next day, as a safety precaution.

Swimming with humpback whales is also available with Niue’s dive operators between July and September.

Spa Treatments in Niue

After putting your body through its paces with scuba diving this morning, be sure to treat it to some pampering. Maulu Spa offers relaxing massages with coconut oil (or something else if you prefer) either at their clifftop massage bungalow or in the privacy of your accommodation. They also offer yoga sessions to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. Alternatively, Tui Na Health Clinic offers relaxing evening massages.

Departure Day

Leaving already? You might have only had the tiniest taste of Niue, but you’ll still have time to enjoy a coffee or a fresh-fruit smoothie at one of Alofi’s cafes before checking in for your flight.

Check-in your baggage at Hanan Airport in the morning, then come back later when departure check-in opens. All is explained in Leaving Niue: The Niue Airport Departure Process, so you know what to expect.

If you have a rental car, return it at the airport by parking it up by the “Rental Cars Only” signs and leaving the keys in the car.

Then, relax in the departure lounge with one last drink in Niue at the Runway Bar, before taking your flight to Auckland.
