Types of Luxury Accommodation in Niue
Out of the 40 accommodations in Niue, which are the most upscale? Niue’s most luxurious accommodations come in the form of a resort, villas, cottages and apartments, as well as holiday homes.
Four-Star Resort
Niue has one resort, which is the four-star Scenic Matavai Resort. The main resort complex has around 55 spacious guest rooms, some with ocean views, while all have ensuites and a patio/balcony. There are a swimming pool, pool bar and a restaurant on-site, each on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Villas/Cottages/Apartments
Much of Niue’s other luxurious accommodations are either self-contained villas or complexes of cottages and apartments. Good examples of Niue’s luxury villas include Lau’s Getaway and Stone Villas. Location, How to Get There and What is Nearby?
When planning a luxury getaway to Niue, you don’t need to worry about being too far away from anywhere as it is recommended that you hire a car for the length of your stay. Driving times are no longer than 30 minutes to pretty much anywhere on the island. (Note that there is only one taxi on the island). With that in mind, you might just want to consider staying in an accommodation with a location that enhances the experience, such as ocean views, somewhere remote or even somewhere conveniently close to town if you prefer.
Where are Niue’s Luxury Accommodations Located?
Niue’s luxury accommodations are either located in the capital, Alofi, or one of the quiet villages, such as Namukulu, Tamakautoga or Avatele. The benefit of being in Alofi is that you are close to the island’s restaurants, tours and shops. In the other villages, you tend to get a more tranquil experience (except for the chickens which are just a part of island life), yet could be close to beaches, snorkelling spots and sea tracks to explore.
What Does the Accommodation Offer to Get There and Around?
Most of Niue’s luxury accommodation offers airport transfers to get your holiday off to an easy start. Some even offer complimentary car hire, can organise car hire for you, or has bikes to rent sometimes included in the price. What’s Nearby?
Another thing to consider when choosing somewhere luxurious to stay is what is nearby? Having something to do when you have some downtime on the island is an important aspect of a Niue holiday, so consider accommodation with sea tracks and beaches nearby, perhaps something with amazing ocean views where you can spot whales and dolphins? It’s the little extras that turn a good holiday into an exceptional holiday. Niue’s luxury accommodations often have added touches to make your getaway just a little more special.
