Before you decide if motorbiking around Niue is right for you, be aware that although 123 km (76 mi) of Niue’s roads are paved, most of them are covered in potholes. Needless to say, this makes riding a motorbike a little more challenging than a smooth sealed road. Other hazards to be aware of include animals on the road, like chickens and dogs. On that note, if you seize up at even the thought of being chased by a dog and you think it will impair your ability to ride a motorcycle, then perhaps rent a car instead.
